Somewhere between life and death is, Everlost, a kind of limbo for people’s souls that don’t have a body anymore but can’t go on to where they were supposed to go either. Nick and Allie are stuck in Everlost after they die in a car accident with all the things and places that no longer exist filled with bands of “lost children”. When they meet Mary, the self proclaimed queen of the lost children Nick feels like he has found a home, but Allie isn’t content to spent eternity in between worlds.

Charlie West is a good kid; he studies hard in both school and martial arts, all and all a average American teen; At least, as far as he can remember. But Charlie just woke up in a nightmare. He's strapped to a chair, and someone outside the door just ordered his death somehow Charlie manages to escape . . . only to find out that this nightmare isn't ending. There's a whole year of his life that he can't remember--a year in which he was convicted of murdering his best friend and working with terrorists. Now, with the police and a band of killers on his trail, he's got to find the answers to some of the deepest questions ever asked: Who am I? What do I stand for? And how am I going to stay alive?

“Teenage girls are powerful creators. I remember; I was once one of them.” Something is happening to Charlotte Emerson, like the fires that ravage the hills of Los Angeles, it consumes her from the inside out. Fairy tale
Susan Beth Pfeffer’s Life as We Knew It enthralled and devastated readers with its brutal but hopeful look at an apocalyptic event—an asteroid hitting the moon, setting off a tailspin of horrific climate changes. Now this harrowing companion novel examines the same events as they unfold in New York City, revealed through the eyes of seventeen-year-old Puerto Rican Alex Morales. Dexter Morgan has been under considerable pressure. In trying to avoid the deep suspicions of the dangerous Sergeant Doakes-who believes Dexter is a homicidal maniac (which, is true but that is beside the point)-Dexter has had to slip further into his foolproof domestic disguise. While not working as a blood spatter analyst for the Miami Police Department, he now spends nearly all his time with his girlfriend, Rita, and her two children. But how long can Dexter play Family man instead of Jack the ripper? But baggers cant be choosers and opportunity comes a knocking, A particularly nasty psychopath is leaving a bloody trail through Miami and Dexter's dark appetite is revived, but it's not until his nemesis, Sergeant Doakes, is abducted that Dex can finally throw himself headlong into the search for a new plaything. Fitzpatrick debuts with a gripping chiller where humans become pawns in the hands of fallen angels. Nora Grey is assigned a new partner in her sophomore biology class. Her instincts tell her Patch is trouble, and she doesn't like the way he is already inside her head (“Part of me wanted to run away from him screaming, Fire! A more reckless part was tempted to see how close I could get without... combusting”). Soon she is questioning her sanity—she is attacked by a masked figure that smashes her car window, but later the glass is intact. And the same figure ransacks her bedroom, but everything is in place when the police arrive. The violence and danger escalate, and Nora learns that Patch is actually a fallen angel seeking to become human. "If I really wanted to open up, I'd confess that I really am the liar everyone believes I am." High-school junior Tola Riley has green hair, a nose ring, an attitude problem, and a fondness for fairy tales. Everyone thinks she's crazy; everyone says so, everyone except Mr. Mymer, her art teacher. He gets her paintings and lets her hang out in the art room during lonely lunch periods, but then rumors start flying and Tola is suddenly the center of a scandal. When Mr. Mymer is suspended for what everyone thinks is an affair, she has no choice but to break her silence. Fairy tales won't help her this time . . .

Even though the Fablehaven books are a couple hundred pages each, you hardly seem to notice. There are some slow parts, but most of the book is filled with adventures shrouded in mystery and betrayal. I really enjoyed reading these books and hope others like them too.~Review by Cassie So…you’d think after banishing an immortal being and a fallen High Priestess, saving Stark’s life, biting Heath, getting a headache from Erik, and almost dying, Zoey Redbird would catch a break. Sadly, a break is not in the House of Night school forecast. It's been a year since septimus heap discovered his real family and true calling to be a wizard. As Apprentice to Extra Ordinary Wizard Marcia Overstrand, he is learning the fine arts of Conjurations, Charms, and other Magyk, while Jenna is adapting to life as the Princess and enjoying the freedom of the Castle. But there is something sinister at work. Marcia is constantly trailed by a menacing Darke Shadow, and Septimus's brother Simon seems bent on a revenge no one understands. Why is the Darke Magyk still lingering?
