Welcome to the Legacy High School Lightning Band program. Legacy High School – an Adams 12 public high school – is located in Broomfield, Colorado, which currently serves over 2,000 students in grades 9-12.

The Legacy High School Lightning Band program strives to give all participating students a comprehensive musical education in aspects of instrumental music while also focusing on instilling important life skills necessary for becoming productive members of society, and connoisseurs of music for life.

The Legacy Lightning Band Programs consist of: Marching Band, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble, Performances with the LHS Musicals, Music Theory, Music Performance, Color Guard and Winter Guard.

The mission of the Legacy High School Choral Program is to provide students with music education in a creative learning environment where all students are valued, that teaches appropriate fundamentals, provides opportunities for individual and shared performances, and represents the school throughout the community, region, nation, and world.

Music is an integral part of a comprehensive education. It enables all students to discover and develop their artistic potential through musical experiences in listening, performing, analyzing, moving, and creating. In addition, singing has many health benefits including lung development and strengthening, posture correction, and neurological improvement; including increased oxygen to the blood system and the brain which results in increased concentration.  Singing is proven to provide confidence, discipline and an energetic and euphoric lift.

The choirs of Legacy High School include: Men’s Choir/Women’s Choir (Concert Choir), Advanced Women’s Choir, Legacy Chorale (Chamber Choir), and Vocal Jazz.

The Mission of Legacy High School Orchestras is to create LIFE-changing musical experiences for its members, school, and community.

We promote a culture of acceptance, mutual respect, leadership, and integrity and are PROUD to be a part of a community that values music education.
