Ms. Cavallaro is orginally from Atlanta, Georgia. She earned a BA in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, a M.Ed in Deaf Education from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, and a MA in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Colorado Boulder. Ms. Cavallaro has taught in the classroom at the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf and in District 11 in Colorado Springs. She has been a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist since 2008 and came to Adams 12 from Denver Public Schools in 2012. As part of the Special Education Department at Legacy, Ms. Cavallaro works primarily with students with hearing loss in small group settings. She supports students to continue to develop their functional speech, language, and listening skills. Ms. Cavallaro splits her time in Adams 12 between Mountain View Elementary School and Legacy High School, and she will be at Legacy on Tuesday mornings and Wednesdays.
