Dena has been teaching Economics and Government at Legacy since 2016. Teaching since 2006, Dena previously taught in Jefferson County. A New York Native, she attended Barnard College at Columbia University in New York City where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Psychology and minors in Environmental Science and History. She then received her Post-BA and Teacher Licensure in Secondary Social Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder. Her love of learning and passion for government and public policy led her to pursue a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Colorado Denver School of Public Affairs. Shortly thereafter, she learned her National Board Teacher Certification. She currently holds a Professional Teacher License with a Master Certificate in Secondary Social Studies from the Colorado Department of Education.
