Mark has been an educator for 22 years, 17 years at LHS. He was on the planning team that opened the school in 2000. Mark teaches social science, specifically U.S. Government, U.S. and World History, and Economics. Mark recieved his teaching certificate from the University of Colorado at Denver Masters Program. Currnently Mark teaches part time at LHS and does education policy work by leading a cohort of teachers from around the state to build their capacity to engage with policy makers and ensure practitioners have a voice in the creation, implementation, and sustainability of policies. Mark was a Classroom Teacher Ambassador for the U.S. Department of Education, a Teacher Leader Fellow at the Pahara Aspen Insitutue, and a National Fellow for Hope Street Group. Mark lives in Denver and has two children, one in college and the other a junior in high school. Mark is married to Gina who is a teacher librarian at Highlands Ranch High School.
