This is Melissa Sivernell's fifth year at Legacy. She is an Assistant Principal and Activity Director. Melissa began working for Adams 12 Five Star Schools 11 years ago. She has worked both as a High School Assistant Principal and as a District Administrator here in Colorado. Prior to that, she was a teacher and administrator in Texas and Georgia.
Mrs. Sivernell grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and received her teaching degree in Middle Grades Education from the University of West Georgia. After teaching for 3 years, she then completed her first Masters Degree in Middle Grades Education also from the University of West Georgia. Through the inspiration of numerous passionate school leaders, Mrs. Sivernell went on to complete her second Masters Degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Georgia.
Mrs. Sivernell is encouraged by dedicated educators here at Legacy High. The commitment of the families and the spirit of the students have created an amazing community that makes coming to work everyday very rewarding. She is excited about working with our Deans, Campus Security, and School Resource Officer to make sure Legacy is a safe, secure place where students can come to learn. Mrs. Sivernell also works closely with our Music and Mathematics departments.
